Sunita Chaudhary Sunita Chaudhary Program Officer

Sunita Chaudhary is a Program Officer at NIMJN. She started her career as a journalist in Dang and has produced in-depth reports on gender, socio-political, and indigenous issues. She also reported on the sexual abuse on women during the Maoist insurgency and the sexual abuse on former Kamlaris from western Nepal.

Sunita has worked at Radio Madhaypachim FM, Samarekha Magazine, and other media outlets. She has produced news reports, talk shows, and programs on contemporary socio-political issues.

She has also worked as a media production officer at the Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access (DBI EA), leading the production of influential radio programs and Public Service Announcements (PSAs) on governance and social accountability issues. Sunita has mentored 54 journalists across Nepal to produce quality radio programs.

She has also worked as an associate Project Officer at ActionAid International Nepal, leading youth projects. She led capacity building for youth volunteers for social transformation and justice.

Sunita holds a Bachelor's degree in Rural Development, Nepali, and Law and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sociology.  While not working with journalists, Sunita enjoys listening to music.
