Priyanka Hamal

Priyanka Hamal, representing Dolpa, is one of the recipients of the NIMJN Human Trafficking Reporting Fellowship from Karnali Province. This fellowship was open to the training participants of the NIMJN’s Reporting on Human Trafficking and Human Rights using Multimedia Tools training held in Surkhet for the journalists in Karnali Province, supported by Australian Aid. Priyanka was selected based on her story idea related to human trafficking issues in Karnali Province. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism at Sigma College. She has accumulated an experience of three years working in Nepali media outlets including Earth News TV and Nepal Ground Zero. Her reporting areas of interest focus on social issues highlighting human rights-related reporting. Priyanka looks forward to exploring human rights issues through the lens of investigative journalism using multimedia tools in collaboration with NIMJN.
