Ruma Rijal is one of the recipients of NIMJN’s Disasters Reporting Fellowship. This fellowship was open to participants of NIMJN’s training on Reporting on Humanitarian Crises and Disasters using Solutions Journalism, held in Panchthar, supported by Humanity United.

Ruma is currently the executive editor at Jhalkonepal.com and has previously worked for Radio Saptakoshi FM and other media outlets. She received the Child Sensitive Journalism Award 2018 and the Girls & Women Education Advocacy Award from UNICEF.

Ruma has produced a report on human trafficking titled ‘Disaster Victims at High Risk of Trafficking’ with NIMJN. She is passionate about addressing issues related to women and marginalized communities through journalism.
